How to start up in macOS from Windows

Mac Single App Mode
- From the notification area on the right side of the Windows taskbar, click to show hidden icons.
- Click the Boot Camp icon .
- From the menu shown, choose Restart in macOS.
If you haven't installed the latest Boot Camp updates, you might get the message ”Could not locate the OS X boot volume.'
Or use Startup Manager as your Mac starts up:

- Select your Mac startup volume (Macintosh HD) in the Startup Manager window, then press Return or click the up arrow:
Jun 27, 2019 Keyboard shortcut. Hold Command + Tab and you will see a bar appear on your screen with all open apps. Continue to hold Command and then press Tab to go through each application. You can hold Command and press Shift + Tab to go in the opposite direction.

How to start up in Windows from macOS
- Use Startup Manager to choose your Windows (Boot Camp) volume during startup.
- Or select your Boot Camp volume in Startup Disk preferences, then restart.

I like the new dark mode in macOS Mojave, but sometimes I need to switch back to light mode. I wanted a faster way than having to go into System Preferences. While looking for an answer, I came across a simple AppleScript that I want to share with everyone. Don’t worry if you’ve never even used and AppleScript before, this is easy to use and you don’t have to understand anything about AppleScript!
The Dark & Light Mode Switcher AppleScript
In case you don’t know, an AppleScript is a file that uses AppleScript code to automate something on our mac. Each time you run this AppleScript, it toggles between Light and Dark modes. Here’s the code if your interested, otherwise, continue with the instructions below.
Get The Script & Unzip it

Installation
- Launch the Script Editor app (found in Applications > Utilities).
- In the Script Editor app go into the Script Editor menu and choose Preferences.
- In the General section check on Show Script menu in menu bar.
- Quit the Script Editor app.
- In the menu bar, click the script icon and choose Open Scripts Folder > Open User Scripts Folder.
- Drag the script you downloaded (Dark & Light Mode Switcher.scpt) into the Scripts folder that opened.
Using the AppleScript
In the menu bar, click the script icon and choose Dark & Light Mode Switcher.
